PK Photography uses a documentary approach to all the sessions offered. Curious what documentary family photography is? I have written a blog post about this but I am better talking about them and showing you sessions than I am at typing about them.
This means there is no posing, no direction and no stress. You won’t need to be concerned with what outfits everyone will wear to complement each other, you won’t need to stress about fitting it in between naps, no need to bribe kids (or reluctant husbands) for these sessions either!
After photographing my own family in this way, and finding posing and setting up shots just didn’t sit well with me, I decided to change the way I photographed for clients as well. I began including a more documentary approach to client work in 2014 and in 2015 made to decision to take on only documentary clients. The only exception is a dance school whose portraits I take annually.
Career highlights include;
Braemar Gallery Exhibition 2018
A successful application to Braemar Gallery in Springwood, NSW has secured me a place on their 2018 calendar. 29 March-22 April.
Documentary Family Awards 2017
The only photography awards dedicated to documentary work. It is an international award and two of my images made the final cut. One placed and another received an honourable which means it didn’t place in the top ten but was in the unranked grouping of the next best ten images.
