Some Christmas tree selection and drone flying in the final 10 on 10 for 2018. I wanted to go out with a bang. Some amazing story told through ten images. I didn’t get a chance to even tell an ordinary story in ten images this past month. I picked up my camera many times for one or two shots of something like the morning light on my sleeping daughter but nothing in the same situation or even along a similar theme. Then a few days ago, my Dad took us to his friend’s house and property. They have a Christmas Tree plantation that they only make available to friends and family who are asked to make a donation to a charity that they have connections with. I had visions of all these shots of the girls choosing a tree that I would look out for but they didn’t happen – in this case because Olive was asleep in the car and Evie and didn’t want to leave my side until the drone was turned on. The blessing and curse of the documentary approach is that you won’t necessarily get the shots you have in mind but you will be able to see other moments or images as they arise and it turns out Evie is pretty good with a drone. It was her maiden flight and she even managed to land it on mine and my Dad’s hands!
So, here is my final contribution to the 10 on 10 blog circle for 2018. Be sure to make your way around the circle by clicking the link to the next talented photographer’s post at after the pictures below.
The ever amazing Erika is up next with her 10 on 10 for December.
We aren’t sure yet if we will return in 2019 with a 10 on 10 again or something different but I have absolutely loved being part of this group of photographers. It has been a highlight each month to share my images and see what has been going on with the others. So, thank you everyone for participating and for coming along for the ride!

These are great, Penelope! I hope you got a beautiful tree for yourselves.
The tree we chose went to Mum and Dad’s. I would love a real tree but for now we have a black plastic one and I live vicariously through my parents.
What a fun afternoon!! I’m sure the drone flying totally made your daughter’s day!! So great! 🙂
Dad wasn’t recording for most of Evie’s drone flying but I would have loved to have seen footage of her looking up at it. She loved the opportunity to fly it and picked it up pretty quickly.
These are awesome. The drone must have been so fun.
I am yet to have my turn but it seems like fun so next time we visit, I think I will see if I can haev a go as well.
I love that last shot!
The last shot is my favourite as well 😉
